Technical Rider – VJ Performance

Video System

  • Main Video Mixer: Roland V-4EX (provided by VJ)

  • Output Formats (in order of preference):

    1. HDMI – digital, up to 1080p (preferred)
    2. SDI – available if venue provides HDMI → SDI conversion (for long cable runs)
    3. Composite Video (CVBS RCA) – analog, SD resolution (fallback for older beamers or legacy LED processors)

  • Frame Rate: 50/60 Hz

Input Requirements

  • Venue LED wall controller or beamer must accept one of the above formats.
  • If SDI is required, venue must provide an HDMI → SDI converter.
  • If long cable runs are expected, venue should provide appropriate cabling/distribution.

Screen & Mapping

  • We provide a single, standard 16:9 HDMI feed (via the Roland V-4EX).
  • The venue’s LED/video team must configure their system to accept this feed.
  • Custom aspect ratios (e.g. 21:9, 12:9, etc.) are acceptable.
    • Our feed may be scaled or cropped to fit, provided the original aspect ratio (16:9) is preserved.
    • Please avoid stretching or squishing the image.
    • Preferably, the feed should be centered on the screen for best visual balance.
  • We do not perform screen mapping or pixel alignment — this is the responsibility of the venue’s technical crew.

Stage & Setup

  • Mixer position: Front of House (FOH) or side-stage with clear sightline to LED walls/projectors.
  • Power: 1x 230V Schuko outlet.
  • Work Area: Minimum 2m table space (width) for V-4EX and laptop setup.
  • Table must be high (standing height, approx. 110–120 cm).
  • At least one high chair/stool should be provided for comfort during longer sets.

Cameras & Cabling

  • We provide cameras for live input on stage.
  • Venue must allow safe placement of cameras on/near stage.
  • Cable runs from stage to VJ position should be possible without the use of ladders (truss access, cable trays, or pre-rigged paths appreciated).
  • This ensures fast setup and teardown after the performance.
